Alejandro Monteverde

A native of Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Alejandro Monteverde is an acclaimed director and producer whose first feature film, Bella, won the Toronto Film Festival’s top award. A graduate of the prestigious University of Texas film school, he has most recently directed Sounds of Freedom, an audacious film staring Jim Caviezel which tackles the grotesque practice of child sex trafficking. His 2016 film, Little Boy, was one of the top grossing films in Latin America, and enjoyed commercial success in the United States after a theatrical run followed by streaming release.
