About the Show

This event will be held at Des Plaines Theatre — 1476 Miner St, Des Plaines, IL 60016

Experience a rare and extraordinary evening of music performed by Sacred Voices, the Choir of the Cardinal Bartolucci Foundation.

Direct from Rome, these distinguished musicians from Roman and Vatican Choirs bring the timeless tradition of Gregorian chant and sacred polyphony—music that has resonated for centuries within the walls of the Vatican. Rooted in the historic Roman School of sacred music, the first part of the program celebrates the beauty, spirituality, and artistic legacy of the Catholic Church and the great composers of the Sistine Chapel Choir. The second part will be dedicated to the most famous arias of Italian Opera.

Program Highlights

The concert features works from the rich repertoire of the Vatican tradition and Italian Opera, including:

· Sacred polyphony of the Roman School
· Works connected to the musical tradition of the Sistine Chapel Choir
· Arias from Rossini, Verdi, Mascagni and Puccini

Performed in the noble and solemn style that has defined sacred choral music for centuries.

Dante 360

Midway upon the journey of our life, I found myself within a forest dark, for the straightforward pathway had been lost.”

And so we all begin—in darkness.

Join Dante on his most famous journey through the depths of hell, levels upon levels of purgatory, finally discovering the light and glory of paradise. You will find terror in the wild beasts he meets along the way; and only moments later great hope at the strong woman, Beatrice, who leads him always upwards.

This contemporary staged performances of one of the most epic stories of the western world is an immersive, multi-dimensional production that leads you into Dantes universe. Returning to the stage for the 4th year, this year’s production.

Its heaven. It’s hell. But above all, it’s worth the trip.
