About the Show

A battle is being waged for your soul from an office in hell!

Witness a fast-paced, tour-de-force performance in this acclaimed adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ satiric masterpiece.

This international hit offers a faithful stage adaptation of Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters, following Screwtape, a senior tempter in Hell, as he schemes to capture the soul of an unsuspecting human on earth and reveals spiritual warfare in vivid, humorous and powerful ways.

The Screwtape Letters run time is 90 minutes with no intermission. It is recommended for ages 13 and older, and children under age 4 are not admitted.

Critical Praise

“...Jeffrey Fiske and Max McLean, who adapted the show, don’t traffic in minimalist symbolism or arty deconstruction. The show is set in hell, and hell—or, at least, a corner thereof—is what they stick up on the stage, white smoke, blood-red lights and all. And McLean, who stars in the piece as the demon Screwtape, also doesn’t traffic in understated subtlety. He is a plumy, over-articulate actor, playing an employee of the devil’s. He lets it rip.”
— Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune
“...But be forewarned: This is one of those prose texts that demands absolute attention. Happily, its adapters and performers have deployed a slew of theatrical tricks to enhance the work's brainy delights, and the whole thing grows more lucid and perversely delicious as it unfolds.”
— Hedy Weiss, Chicago Sun Times
“This is a dark comedy, and for the most part it doesn't matter what your religious beliefs are. Look at the total production as a theatrical entertainment and you cannot help but have a good time. The set by Cameron Anderson is unique and the lighting by Tyler Micoleau adds just the right touch as does Bart Fasbenders sound design. What we have are two very talented people telling a story by a witty writer whose words will make you think. I would suggest that you leave your beliefs at the doorstep and enter the Mercury with an open mind.”
— Al Bresloff, EpochTimes

Dante 360

Midway upon the journey of our life, I found myself within a forest dark, for the straightforward pathway had been lost.”

And so we all begin—in darkness.

Join Dante on his most famous journey through the depths of hell, levels upon levels of purgatory, finally discovering the light and glory of paradise. You will find terror in the wild beasts he meets along the way; and only moments later great hope at the strong woman, Beatrice, who leads him always upwards.

This contemporary staged performances of one of the most epic stories of the western world is an immersive, multi-dimensional production that leads you into Dantes universe. Returning to the stage for the 4th year, this year’s production.

Its heaven. It’s hell. But above all, it’s worth the trip.
