MASC is an evening-length dance theater piece by choreographer and director Keli Gunn. MASC seeks to explore how patriarchal masculinity affects our intimate relationships, our personhood, and our relationship to society, from a queer and nonbinary perspective. The source material for this piece is The Will to Change: Men, Masculinity, and Love, regarded as a timelessly necessary treatise on how patriarchy and toxic masculinity hurts us all, from New York Times bestselling author, feminist pioneer, and cultural icon bell hooks.
The show will be 45 minutes in length, with an optional 15-minute talkback with the choreographer and performers at the end of the piece.
