Set in 1920s America, Alexei Kremnev’s one-of-a-kind “The Art Deco Nutcracker,” featuring Tchaikovsky’s beloved score, is a fresh, yet traditional take on the beloved holiday favorite with costume and set design inspired by the unique sophistication of the Art Deco era. Stunning choreography puts the best young talent on display with an international, multicultural cast, and International Top Awards winners. Renowned dancer, choreographer and Artistic Director Alexei Kremnev is at the helm as Drosselmeyer.

The 2023 production includes lead roles filled by three women of diverse backgrounds, making it one of the first ballet companies to do so.

A&A BALLET Chicago Center for Dance was founded in 2016 by highly acclaimed Alexei Kremnev and Anna Reznik. Both are distinguished dancers with experience as Founding Artistic Directors at the Joffrey Ballet Academy and the Joffrey Studio Company. “The Art Deco Nutcracker” is Kremnev’s 11 full-length ballet. His work has been presented at the world-renowned Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Lincoln Center in New York, and the Opernhaus Zurich in Switzerland, among other prestigious venues across the globe. Both Kremnev and Reznik have been recognized as Influential people in the arts and have received multiple awards for their leadership.
