Experience Dante 360 this November on the Historic Main Stage at Athenaeum Center in Chicago.
Athenaeum Center Theatre is proud to announce that tickets are now on sale for Dante 360, the immersive theatrical experience returning to the Historic Main Stage November 13–15, 2026.

Now in its fifth production, Dante 360 continues to evolve as one of Athenaeum Center’s signature original works, blending theater, visual art, and music into a multi-dimensional journey through Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. Audiences are invited to travel through Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven in a visually striking and emotionally resonant production that transforms one of literature’s greatest works into a living theatrical encounter.
Presented inside the Historic Main Stage at Athenaeum Center, where Dante and Beatrice themselves appear high above the proscenium arch, the production offers a uniquely immersive experience rooted in the history and artistic vision of the theatre itself.

A Journey Through Darkness Toward Revelation
Created and co-written by Executive Director Lawrence Daufenbach alongside Rome-based art historian Dr. Elizabeth Lev, Dante 360 combines classical storytelling with contemporary theatrical innovation.
This year’s production introduces new performers, fresh staging, and innovative design elements while remaining grounded in the poetic depth and spiritual imagination of Dante’s original text. Through movement, language, live performance, music, and visual imagery, audiences encounter timeless questions of love, justice, redemption, mercy, and the search for meaning.
Whether you are a longtime admirer of The Divine Comedy or experiencing Dante’s world for the first time, Dante 360 offers a powerful and accessible theatrical experience that engages the senses, the imagination, and the soul.
