Twin Fiddles. Driving rhythm. Fun for the whole family.
Led by Ukrainian-American brothers Alex and Danylo Fedoryka, Scythian (pronounced “sith-ee-in”) plays roots music from Celtic, Eastern European, and Appalachian traditions with thunderous energy, technical prowess, and storytelling.
They bring various influences together to create a conglomerate which is technically precise and steeped in various folk traditions, beckoning crowds into a barn-dance, rock concert experience.
The classically-trained Fedorykas grew up on Ukrainian folk music and bluegrass, bassist Ethan Dean was raised on the greats of 60’s & 70’s folk-rock, and Louisiana-born drummer Johnny Rees brings a Cajun backbeat to the Celtic-Americana fusion—giving Scythian yet another dimension which keeps audiences entertained and moving. Through their music, they bring the spirit of roving Ukrainian fiddlers to their own audience; and make everyone stop for a moment and dance without a care!
We’re excited to have this powerhouse band kick off our 2023 season March 5th on the Historic Main Stage.
Join us to experience what The Washington Post said of Scythian: “[their] enthusiasm is contagious, and shows seem to end with everyone dancing, jumping around or hoisting glasses.”
Chicago’s own “The Great Whiskey Project” will open, Trinity Irish Dance will make a special appearance.
The Bar at the Paradiso opens at 5—pick up a Guinness or one of the cocktails crafted by our talented bartenders to enjoy during the show!
VIP Tickets include:
