We’re excited to welcome Eighth Blackbird as our first Artist-in-Residence. We are united by a commitment to transforming the arts through innovative programming and meaningful cultural experiences. Eighth Blackbird, celebrated for pushing the boundaries of contemporary classical music, will captivate audiences with a series of concerts that blend the visionary work of living composers with interdisciplinary collaborations.
The residency’s inaugural performance, An Introduction to Eighth Blackbird, will take place on January 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Paradiso, with a Meet & Greet Cocktail Hour at 6:30 p.m. Audiences will enjoy live renditions of pieces by composers Joan Tower, Nico Muhly, and Viet Cuong, gaining an inside look at the ensemble’s creative process. Later performances will feature My Brightest Diamond and saxophone quartet ~Nois, as well as the boundary-pushing Composition as Explanation by David Lang, which brings the words of Gertrude Stein to life through music and theater.
Tickets for An Introduction to Eighth Blackbird are now live. Tickets for February and March performances coming soon—stay tuned!
Future performances will be announced at a future date.
